You Capture, Week One

Photobucket

Beth, over at I Should Be Folding Laundry, is hosting a blog carnival called You Capture. Each week she gives a challenge for others to "capture." This week the challenge was to take a picture of something that you love without using flash. At first I thought about taking some sort of picture of my kids. Then as the week progressed, I thought that I wanted to try to take a picture of something different, but I wasn't sure what.

I finally decided to take a picture of my mother's necklace. It is a piece of jewelry that I absolutely love and wear almost every day. It is actually a replacement for the necklace my husband got me for my first mother's day that I left at a hotel a few years ago. He surprised me with a new one two years ago and I have worn it non-stop since.

I know it looks like I used flash because of the shadows and brightness, but I didn't. I just moved my jewelry box into direct sunlight. Here is another view where you can actually see the lines from the blinds.
Maybe a little too bright! I was worried because my bedroom doesn't have too much natural light in it, so like I said I moved the jewelry box to the direct light. Oh well, I kind of like how the light shines off the necklace.
